30 Years of SRJ
2022 marks a monumental milestone for SRJ Windows as we enter our 30th year. First established by the Macintosh Family in 1992, SRJ has since developed into one of Scotland’s most trusted installers for quality home improvement solutions. Over 30 years, we have developed, built, and grown as a trusted brand and household name.
Since our opening, we have helped over 50,000 customers enhance the interior and exterior of their homes. With our extensive industry knowledge and personalised approach to service, we aim to help all our customers achieve their dream homes.
To this day, SRJ Windows operates as a family-run, privately owned business in Fife, and with these strong family values, we have continued to grow and thrive. Our main goal is to continue helping you and your family create the perfect living space to enjoy for years to come.
Cementing our Legacy
Following our opening in Powmill back in 1992, we began installing quality home improvements in Hawick and the Edinburgh area. Introducing multiple transit vehicles to the business provided an opportunity to expand.
In 1996 the family and business relocated to Bogside. Shortly after, in 1997, SRJ settled into a large agricultural shed and Portakabin, where four trusted installation teams and skilled admin staff were recruited. Our next milestone occurred in 1999, when SRJ moved to Oakey and settled into a new 4,500sqft building.
By 2006, the SRJ team had grown to accommodate 32 members of staff, with five dedicated installation teams. Through the combined efforts of our back-office team and installers, SRJ was carrying out a staggering 720 installations per year. Over time, we gained a broad range of expertise in Conservatory, Sunroom, Window, and Door installations.
Our professional team carried out each installation in style, creating a durable and long-lasting result every time. Each positive testimonial fuelled our passion and drive to continue growing as we continued to install. In 2012, we now operated with an in-house team of 45 talented individuals and seven installation teams, carrying out 1,000 installations per year.
Supporting The Community
To help support local trade and materials, SRJ takes pride in assembling all our products right here in Scotland. Because of this, we have gained an unmatched level of expertise in manufacturing products that withstand the impact of local weather.
Since our inception, SRJ Windows has expanded beyond Fife, and we’re now pleased to serve as far north as Dundee, Forfar and Arbroath. Our installations stretch as far south as Galashiels, as far west as Glasgow, and across the east.
Our core values and a strong sense of community drives our passion for giving back. Over the past 30 years, SRJ has proudly supported many leading Scottish Charities and community groups. These groups include Cancer Research, CHAS, and some smaller local charities and galas. In 2015, SRJ Windows was also named the main shirt sponsor for Dunfermline Athletic Football Club.
At SRJ Windows, we believe in nurturing the talent we acquire from the ground up. Throughout SRJ’s history, we have strived to build a healthy and encouraging working environment in which our staff can flourish. We have focused on promoting from within to allow our loyal workers the chance to progress and gain new skills. Over the years, we have helped develop careers in sales, installations, accounts, and customer service. It is our aim to continue providing these working opportunities as we expand our legacy.
SRJ’s Landmarks
2016 was a landmark year for SRJ windows. We opened our doors to a 20,000 sqft state of the art head office located in the Innova Campus. This was created to support business administration and manufacturing. It provided a space for our team to grow and develop in a purpose-built training and product development centre. The showroom’s opening also showcased our incredibly impressive and varied product range.
To this day, the doors of our product and training centre are open, allowing you to see our home improvement solutions first hand. The SRJ showroom is a celebration of our extensive double-glazing range. It provides Dunfermline homeowners with the perfect opportunity to see how a new product will drastically improve their property.
At our showroom, we have a range of uPVC Windows, uPVC Doors, Composite Doors, Steel/Aluminium Doors, Aluminium Bifold Doors, and our range of House Extensions, with Conservatories, Orangeries and Sunrooms all available for display. By visiting our showroom, not only can you view our product ranges first-hand, but our team can help you envision how each home improvement would suit your property. In 2022, we pride ourselves on delivering a standard of service that matches the quality of your product. We have refined our customer service over 30 years, ensuring that we only continue to offer the best. Currently, the SRJ team houses 65 valued members of staff and ten dedicated installation teams, carrying out 1600+ installations per year!
